Dear Mr. Parker:

Thank. you. for. your participation at the .first of its kind .Sportsmen and. Outdoor
Recreation Legislative Awareness Day at the State Capitol  n Albany.
It was a pleasure to join
you and hundreds of 'Heritage' sports enthusiasts from across the state to stand up for the rights
of outdoor sportsmen in New York.

Each year, the Assembly Democrats pass a series of gun control bills that adversely affect
law-abiding gun owners. They want to solve New York City's gun violence problem by placing
tougher restrictions on upstate hunters and sportsmen. Now that Democrats also control the
State Senate, I'm concerned that these restrictive gun bills will be passed into law.

It's now up to responsible gun owners to pressure the Legislature to reject these bills.
Our event marked the beginning of a grassroots effort to make downstate politicians understand
the importance of outdoor recreation in New York, as well as keeping our families safe,
sustaining economic prosperity upstate and treasuring our fundamental right to bear arms.

The honorable traditions of hunting, fishing and enjoying New York's great outdoors are
deeply rooted in our state and are proudly passed down from generation to generation. These
activities also have a significant, positive impact on our state's fiscal health. I will keep in
contact with you about these important issues so that your voice will be heard loud and clear in
Albany.

If you have any questions or comments, or if I can be of assistance to you in the future,
please do not hesitate to call my Albany Office at (518) 455-3751 or email me at
kolbb@assembly.state.ny.us.

Sincerely,

Brian M. Kolb

Assembly Republican Leader
